TikTok-Trending Parenting Hacks To Bring With You This 2024

New Year means new beginnings. For parents, whether they admit it or not, the New Year is also about new challenges in the family.

If you are a parent, perhaps you have encountered the hurdles of raising teenagers and children in this Internet age. Well, TikTok comes to the rescue with some parenting hacks you can take with you this 2024.

The online community of parents are sharing tips and insights about how to ace raising children and teaching them life’s values through the hashtag #ParentsofTikTok. Perhaps you have come across this, too.

Here are some tips.

1. Celebrate developmental milestones

TikToker and parenting content creator Nigel Clarke shared his experiences of juggling things as a parent. He believes parents need to celebrate even the smallest developmental wins in their babies and toddlers.

“It’s important for their development, for them to understand and explore more,” he said.

Parent Win: Celebrating our children’s developmental wins and progress. It’s so important to remember to celebrate the tiniest of progressions that our children make. Not only does it make them feel good, but it encourages them to explore their development comfortably. Hopefully in the example shown you can see how inspiring my son found it and how our celebrations encouraged him to play with it and learn from it. As well as all of the above both parent and child will benefit from the feel good hormones an experience like this stimulates #parentsoftiktok #toddlerwins #earlyyears #newparents #dadsoftiktok

2. Take your child to open days

What does this mean? Well, parent and chef Martyn gave an example. He has inspired the TikTok cooking community with stories of his son cooking with him in the kitchen. This is what open days are all about.

“Invest your energy in your child and let your child guide what they want to do in the early parts of their life, because they know what they want to do,” he stated.

Kids absorb the energy that you give them, i am no child shrink but we involve our son in everything, picking paint colour for the house, food choices, school choices etc. yes we have the final say but allowingvthem to be part of the journey really helps him be invested and heard. 3. Control your kids’ screen time

Interestingly, even kids can get addicted to smartphone use nowadays. Screen time addiction is on the rise, and this parent, Nanny Amies, who provides parenting support via TikTok, agrees.

In one of her clips, she explained why parents should not hesitate and be afraid to put boundaries in place, especially if their children are having large amounts of screen time.
