TikTok star and millennial mom Brittany Xavier posted a video on the platform showing her and her 16-year-old daughter bonding over a quiz that had the mom asking her if she knew some stuff from the 1990s.
The daughter, Jadyn, does not know any of it.
“asking my gen z daughter questions about the 90s (emoji) #genz #millennial #momanddaughter,” Xavier wrote in the caption.
Brittany, 36, said her conversation with her husband about VHS tapes inspired her to produce that kind of video.
She first asked if Jadyn knew about Walkmans. For those of you who don’t know, Walkmans are portable audio devices from Sony that play cassettes.
The 16-year-old daughter guessed they were a video game or walkie-talkies.
“No,” her mom said.
She also asked her daughter if she knew about the popular email service from the past, AOL.
“Bro, what are all these abbreviations? … I don’t know,” Jadyn said in the TikTok clip.
Brittany also asked Jadyn if she knew about LimeWire, answering machines, Pogs, and burning CDs. The daughter said she doesn’t know any of them either.
That’s a great bonding game with your kids, especially if they are Gen Zs or millennials – you can just adjust the year to maybe the 1980s or 1970s.
The TikTok video has already received hundreds of thousands of reactions and thousands of comments as of press time.
“I’m 25 and I feel SO OLD watching this,” a netizen wrote in a comment.
Brittany is a blogger turned TikTok star who has also worked with brands like Amazon, Tiffany & Co., and Victoria’s Secret.
