Why Is December 3rd Trending On TikTok Now?

If you have found yourself engrossed on TikTok lately, you might have come across the date December 3rd trending on the platform.

TikTokers have seen an uptake in references to that date on their For You pages, and it is all about the lyrics of a popular song by Conan Gray and sweaters, too.

December 3rd trending

Gray is a 24-year-old singer-songwriter and also a YouTuber. In 2018, he signed a record deal with Republic Records, the same company that manages A-list artists like Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, and Drake, to name a few.

Some of Gray’s songs are “Memories,” “Family Line,” “People Watching,” and the song trending on TikTok now, “Heather.”

On TikTok, viral videos, filters, and challenges usually trend, but none is as unique as dates that trend, such as December 3rd. But what does it all mean?

Meaning

If you’ve seen mentions of December 3rd on your For You page, chances are, you have seen it alongside sweaters.

As it turns out, it all stems from the lyrics of “Heather” by Gray, which reads, “I still remember, third of December, me in your sweater. You said it looked better on me than it did you.”

Listen to and know the song’s lyrics below.

Thus, the challenge to people to give sweaters to their crush on December 3rd has also surfaced.

This is not the first time a date has trended on TikTok. If you could remember, August 27th also trended before.

It all began when TikToker @stfusamantha posted a viral video that began to appear on lots of netizens’ For You pages.
