“Crazy Rich Asians” may be fiction, but content creators like Vivian Tu are proving that these crazy, rich Asians live among us – and they can teach us how to be, what else? Rich.
This social media influencer named on Forbes as one of the top content creators this year is all about fusing funny with money. Twenty-nine-year-old Tu was a former J.P. Morgan equity trader who now brings financial literacy to social media with her irreverent and direct-to-the-point videos that teach her followers how to build an investment portfolio, manage their careers, and negotiate a raise.
She has around 2.5 million followers on TikTok, as of press time. That’s massive.
Soon, she will be releasing her first book, “Rich AF.” She hopes this book will bring her wisdom to an even greater number of people who are looking for valuable money advice amidst economic uncertainties.
“So much of the human relationship with finance develops before the age of seven. Whatever you learn from your parents, good or bad, is deeply ingrained, and you have to unpack it before you begin your financial journey,” Tu said. “I talk a lot about money myths and the preconceived notions we have about rich people. We think they work very hard, but they’re so lazy—a smart type of lazy. I talk about how regular people can be that kind of lazy, and how they can develop abundance mindsets.”
Her book drops this 2024.
