This Beautiful Region In Italy Will Pay You $32,000 To Move There! Know The Requirements

Admit it or not, traveling is getting more and more expensive nowadays. But what if there’s a place that can pay you a hefty amount of money if you travel and move there?

True story. The place is the Calabria region in Italy.

Calabria

Calabria is giving away around $32,000 for those interested in moving there, as long as they meet the requirements.

This place is located in southwestern Italy, literally occupying the “toe” of this boot-shaped peninsula. It is characterized by its rugged mountains, old-fashioned villages, popular beaches, and dramatic coastline. The breathtaking Amalfi Coast is accessible from here, but without the chaos.

The requirements

But, this is not your typical get-rich-quick scheme, as you have to be eligible for you to be entitled to the pot money.

First, you must be willing to take the leap within only 90 days, be under the age of 40, and have an inclination toward business. If you don’t love doing business, better say bye-bye to the money.

Officials in this region want people to contribute to the life of the small communities here, and give the local economy its much-needed boost.

Having said that, you must either start a new business here that will benefit its residents, or take one of the jobs that need filling. Some job vacancies include those in restaurants, hotels, bed and breakfasts, and shops.

Those who are eligible may be paid in monthly installments over a period of three years. Others may receive the money as a one-time lump sum to help them fund their new business.

Those who meet the requirements will live in villages with around 2,000 residents or less.

The region’s councilor, Gianluca Gallo, said, “We want to make demand for jobs meet supply, that’s why we’ve asked villages to tell us what type of professionals they’re missing to attract specific workers. We’ve had a huge interest from villages and hopefully, if this first scheme works, more are likely to follow in coming years.”
