Paul has cemented his name in WWE history after winning the title from the United States championship match that happened at the Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia yesterday.
He is joining the ranks of other WWE Champions like John Cena, Chris Benoit, Dean Ambrose, Bobby Lashley, Rusev, Booker T, Dustin Rhodes, and Santino Marella, among others. Will he also venture into film like Cena did?
Here are the highlights of the match.
Actually, thanks to a pair of brass knuckles, the 28-year-old was able to bring home the championship belt.
The brass knuckles were handed to him by one of the members of his entourage, only for them to be knocked out of his hands after Mysterio noticed.
Latino World Order partner Santos Escobar managed to chase away the entourage, but he failed to remove the brass knuckles from the ring’s edge, giving Paul the opportunity to snag the win.
Mysterio, 48, unaware that Paul was able to reclaim the brass knuckles, he thought he would be able to end the match after pulling off his trademark, the iconic 619 finishing move, against the influencer.
But, the Hispanic wrestler instead suffered a brutal punch amidst unleashing a Springboard Senton on the YouTuber. The last blow struck, and Paul pinned Mysterio down.
Paul, who boasts millions of followers on social media, will surely bring more fans for WWE.
