Netflix has unveiled a new trailer for “Squid Game: The Challenge,” a reality show inspired by the popular Korean TV series.
Eagle-eyed fans thought they spotted TikTok prankster Husnain Asif in the trailer. Is he one of the contestants?
“Squid Game: The Challenge” is inspired by “Squid Game,” a South Korean survival drama whose story revolves around a secret contest where 456 players, who are all in deep financial hardship, risk their lives to play a series of deadly children’s games in the hopes to win the $34 million (Korean won 45.6 billion) prize. Sounds like “Hunger Games,” right?
Since this upcoming Netflix reality show takes it from the series, it also brings together 456 players in pursuit of the $4.56 million cash prize. It premieres this November 22nd.
Those who watched the trailer claim they spotted Asif as one of the contestants, carrying a tray of food amidst all the chaos.
Asif is an influencer with a massive 1.2 million followers on TikTok. Known for his funny skits and relatable content, he has swiftly become a household name amongst his youth followers. But, he is also a bit contentious.
Once, he posed as a COVID marshall in lockdown. He also claims to have been “banned” from Dubai.
However, despite all those, he keeps creating content for his fans, and this resilience only adds to his popularity as an influencer.
Interestingly, Asif commented on the trailer, but he is yet to confirm or deny if he is indeed part of the show.
