Recently, Ethan Klein got in hot water after trolling a Palestine activist on Twitter. In a now-deleted Tweet. Originally, the user named Mohammad put up a photo and captioned it by writing: “I’m in South Beach having fun (on drugs).” Replying to this, Klein wrote: “Enjoy your drugs and being a sex worker, Hamas would kill you on the spot.” A screenshot of the original dialogue can be seen below (which has now been deleted by Klein).
Moments after this, Klein apologized for his behavior and wrote: “Alright, I erased the tweet about @MargBarAmerica, it was too mean, I’m sorry. Tensions and emotions are high and I’ll chill out now and close Twitter.” Since then, not only did Klein delete his original message but completely wiped his Twitter account.
This came days after the 2023 Israel-Palestine war began. Klein once lived in Israel for several years where he met his wife Hila and has previously discussed the conflict in past videos. Clearly, this news touched him and since then Klein has actively lessened his social media presence.
Ethan and Hila gained popularity for their humorous and critical take on internet trends, memes, and controversies. They have also been involved in several online disputes and drama within the YouTube and social media communities. In addition to their main channel, they have a podcast called ‘H3 Podcast,’ where they interview various guests, including other YouTubers and celebrities.
