The highly-anticipated bout between YouTuber Logan Paul and mixed martial artist Dillon Danis has finally reached its end. The influencer won by disqualification, but the match ended in a massive brawl that security had to step in.
Years in the making
After the much-awaited boxing event held at the AO Arena in Manchester, England ended, things turned a little bit rougher as everything descended into chaos that security had to step into the ring and interfere to separate the two fighters who kept beating each other.
This fight between Paul and Danis had been years in the making. Even before the day of the match, the tension between the two was already high, leading to skirmishes that even brought injuries, such as what happened during the pre-fight press conference.
After the bout, the influencer gave a message to Danis, saying, “He’s supposed to be good at jiu-jitsu, what happened? He tried to do a takedown, he tried to do a guillotine. I’m sorry I missed that hammer fist. I’m sorry it ended that way … Regardless, thank you for coming out tonight.”
What social media are saying
Of course, social media were present to share their insights about the match.
Damon Martin, a sports correspondent who has been covering mixed martial arts since 2003, tweeted, “Logan Paul out to “Many Men” by @50cent (with @jakepaul by his side) … Dillon Danis to “Freed from Desire” by Gala #PaulDanis #KSIFury”
Meanwhile, a netizen named @MacMallyMMA quipped, “After one round, the microphone bouncing off Logan’s head is still the most significant strike of the fight.”
“Danis didn’t come to fight. He came to clown and survive,” posted @AndreasHale.
