What happens when popular music-listening app Spotify partners with influencers? A blast.
Popculturizm previously reported “Call Her Daddy” host Alexandra Cooper’s upcoming tour across the east coast. This time, it is all about her newest deal with Spotify.
“Call Her Daddy” is already exclusive to Spotify, but the host and entrepreneur signed a new business deal with the app covering ad sales and distribution for podcasts under the wing of her Unwell Network.
Unwell Network is a media company founded by Cooper and her fiancé, Matt Kaplan.
This announcement came just after Spotify announced it is making more effort for audiobooks, its next business frontier, giving paid subscribers a total of 15 hours of listening monthly. However, the app is still waiting for its podcasting segment to profit (perhaps by 2024).
Under this deal, Spotify is to serve as Unwell Network’s sales partner. The media company is mostly targeting Gen Z audiences.
Particularly, Spotify’s Megaphone enterprise podcast platform will host and distribute “Hot Mess With Alix Earle” and “Pretty Lonesome With Madeline Argy.”
Earle and Argy are also influencers who are signed under Unwell Network.
The partnership may also extend to Unwell Network’s future shows.
Spotify offers over five million podcasts available in more than 170 markets, counting over 100 million podcast listeners.
Cooper is an influencer and podcast host known for her interviews with Hollywood celebrities like Miley Cyrus, Jane Fonda, and Hailey Bieber, among others. She has a total of five million followers according to Forbes.
