Kendra Scott, known as Texas’ jewelry superstar, is always fond of giving back. This time, she is embarking on another good-hearted and historic mission.
For the first time ever, an entire collection from her brand will give back, and not just to give back to any other cause, but something very important: breast cancer research.
And she’s not doing it alone. Scott is collaborating with Houston fashion influencer Nasreen Shahi for a jewelry collection available for a limited time only, in commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The collection will include two necklaces, two pairs of earrings, and a bracelet, all named after Shahi’s mother.
A mother’s story
The pieces are gold and silver, and very simple, setting stones in abstract patterns that are meant to be layered. Meanwhile, the centerpiece is an emerald eye of protection, which is a classic Middle Eastern motif.
Although the influencer’s mother is the main inspiration, Shahi also had first-hand experience with breast cancer when she was diagnosed with the disease in 2021.
“This is truly a dream come true (emoji),” Shahi said on her Instagram “Two years ago exactly, I began the fight for my life. I found out that I had metastatic breast cancer in October 2021 and it was the hardest thing my family and I have ever been through. And to now be launching this collection to honor those who stood by my side is a very full circle moment for me.”
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is that time when various individuals, groups, and institutions help promote not just awareness about the disease among women, but also support for each other.
“It’s October, which means it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a difficult month for most survivors because you reflect on so much of your own journey,” the fashion influencer said in another Instagram post.
Shahi and Scott have been close partners in previous years. The influencer has also been featured on Scott’s blog. But, this is their first collaborative collection.
