Trending Now: Want To Get Rid Of Those Stubborn Fats? You Might Want To Freeze Them

Are you also one of those who are dying to bid goodbye to those stubborn fats? You might want to freeze them.

A non-invasive lipo without the suction, known as cryolipolysis or CoolSculpting, is making the rounds online, claiming that it is effective in reducing stubborn fats by freezing them.

What is cryolipolysis?

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, CoolSculpting makes use of cold temperatures in order to break down fat cells.

These fat cells are specifically susceptible to the effects of cold, unlike other kinds of cells. As the fat cells freeze, the patient’s skin and other structures are also spared from getting injured.

Patients who want to reduce a localized fat bulge that persists despite continuous diet and exercise are perfect candidates for cryolipolysis, the society said.

A mom blogger named Tintin who tried the treatment is saying that it is very effective.

She posted on Facebook, “I tried… Cryolipolysis treatment, [and it really reduced a lot of fats from my arms!] After the non-invasive procedure, you will see the [results] instantly. Wow! [Not only affordable, but also reliable (emoji).”

Promotional videos of the procedure surfacing online are garnering several comments from netizens who are asking how much the treatment is, showing how interested they are to try it.

However, not every patient who has tried cryolipolysis like Tintin is satisfied with the results.

‘Brutally disfigured’

In 2022, a cover of People magazine shocked the world with the headline, “My Cosmetic Procedure Nightmare,” side by side with an image of Canadian supermodel Linda Evangelista.

Evangelista alleged she was “brutally disfigured” by a condition known to be paradoxical adipose hyperplasia after she underwent CoolSculpting.

However, the website of Cleveland Clinic indicated that the Food and Drug Administration has not changed its stance that this treatment “is safe and effective,” adding that “it remains a very popular way to address stubborn body fat.”

“CoolSculpting is an effective and minimally invasive body contouring procedure that — like most cosmetic procedures — yields the best results when performed by an experienced specialist,” the website also pointed out.

If you are browsing your social media feeds, you will most likely see cryolipolysis being promoted.
