Matt Rife Says Sorry After Telling Pete Davidson To ‘Run’ From His Ex, Kate Beckinsale

Comedian and social media star Matt Rife is not being comic this time. He is serious when he recently apologized to his ex, Kate Beckinsale and her present boyfriend, Pete Davidson, after telling Davidson to “run from” her a few years ago.

Rife had a “complicated” relationship that lasted around a year with actress Beckinsale, now 50 years old. It started in 2017 and ended in 2018.

After their romance ended, the actress started a relationship with Pete Davidson, also a comedian like Rife, now 29 years old, in 2019. During that time, Rife offered Davison some “man-to-man” dating advice, telling him to “run,” according to Rife’s interview with TMZ.

“Enjoy it while you can. I hope they’re both happy, I hope that it can build to where it’s an established, good relationship,” Rife said at that time. “I wish them both the best. I hope they’re happy. I don’t really have any solid advice, just be careful.”

Now, Rife is saying he regrets saying that, issuing an apology to Davidson and Beckinsale.

“Pete, if you’re out there, sorry I said that. Kate, I also apologize that I said that. I shouldn’t have said that,” he said during his recent appearance on ELLE

The 28-year-old comedian added, “I gave that advice because I was only speaking from personal experience, having been together and finding out that we weren’t the most compatible match. I wanted to make sure that both of them were careful with their emotions and didn’t head into something that they also wouldn’t, that also wouldn’t work out.”
