This loss came shortly after the singer opened up about her experience writing the song “What Was I Made For?” for the Barbie movie soundtrack during an interview with Zane Lowe. Eilish and her brother Finneas were invited to watch a rough cut of the movie, not expecting anything substantial to result from the experience. However, the inspiration struck, and they ended up creating the song, which turned out to be a meaningful and personal endeavor for Eilish.

During the writing process, Eilish revealed that she didn’t think about herself much, but later realized that the song had become a reflection of her own feelings and thoughts.
